Privacy Policy

This page explains what information newplus, operated by BYERETA-TECH, collects, why, how long we keep it, and how you can control or delete it. See also our Terms of Service. If anything here is unclear, you can reach us through the contact details at the bottom of this page.
When you sign up: phone number, a 4-digit PIN (stored securely, never in plain text, see "How we protect your information" below), date of birth, and district.
When you complete your profile: your name and a profile photo.
Location (optional): if you choose to share it, we use it to show other subscribers an approximate distance to you (e.g. "3.2 km away"), never your exact address or a map pin. If you don't share it, you're grouped by district instead. You can stop sharing location at any time.
What you send in the app: chat messages, photos, and voice notes you send to other users, and any listing posts and comments you choose to share.
Payment information: when you subscribe, your payment is handled directly by our payment processor (Pesapal). We receive confirmation that a payment succeeded, but we do not collect or store your card, mobile money PIN, or full payment details ourselves.
Device information: if you turn on notifications, we store a push subscription token for your device so we can send you alerts for new messages, this token identifies your device/browser, not you personally.
We use your information only to run newplus: to create and secure your account, show you land and car listings and people nearby, deliver your messages, process your subscription, and send you notifications you've opted into. we do not sell your information to advertisers or other third parties
Banner ads shown in the app come from advertisers we work with directly they do not receive your personal information as part of this.
Other users can see your name, profile photo, district or distance (if shared), and any listings you post publicly in the app.
Chat messages, photos, and voice notes are only ever visible to you and the person you're messaging, not to other users, and not to us as routine practice. Our system is built so only the two people in a conversation can read it.
Our admin team can access account and subscription information (like your phone number and payment status) to run the service, for example, to verify a payment or help you recover a forgotten PIN. Admin access to private conversations is restricted at the system level and used only when required, such as investigating abuse or a safety report.
Chat messages, photos, and voice notes are automatically deleted after 60 days.
Listings automatically disappear after 24 hours.
Account information (profile, subscription history) is kept for as long as your account is active, and deleted when you delete your account (see below).
Your PIN is never stored as readable text, it's protected with industry-standard encryption (bcrypt) designed specifically to resist attempts to reverse it, even if our systems were ever compromised. Access to conversations, photos, and voice notes is restricted at the database level to only the two people involved in that conversation.
Location sharing is optional and can be turned off at any time.
Notifications are optional, you can turn them on or off from your profile settings.
Editing your details, you can update your name, date of birth, district, or profile photo anytime from My profile → Edit details.
Deleting your account, you can permanently delete your account and its data from within the app at any time. This removes your profile, messages, and other account data from our active systems.
newplus is only for people 18 years of age or older. We ask for your date of birth at signup to enforce this.
If we make significant changes to this policy, we'll update the "last updated" date at the top of this page.
